“Agwamo” Anishinaabe for ‘She Floats on Water’.
This woman this making her plea to the Ancestors to inspire her creation of the regalia she will wear.
Some of the design elements can be seen in the smudge she is holding. Many honors to the Anishinaabe People who inspired this work.

When commissioned to create a piece for the 2011-12 Native Art Travelling Exhibition I just had to create a collage of the many beautiful elements found here in Minnesota. Thank you to Ernest Hensler for the stunning translation of the title into Cree Syllabics.
